Elford is seeking an experienced
Self-Perform Operations Leader to lead and grow our self-perform operations across multiple market sectors. This role provides leadership for a field workforce of more than 100 carpenters, laborers, and skilled trades professionals, supporting projects from preconstruction through execution.
Working closely with Executive Leadership, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Estimating, you'll help position projects for success by driving operational excellence, supporting new work pursuits, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to ensure projects are properly planned, staffed, and sequenced.
- Support the successful delivery of commercial and industrial projects valued at $10M+.
- Provide field leadership during preconstruction, project planning, and execution.
- Track labor productivity, field performance, project costs, and manpower utilization.
- Support project teams in identifying risks, maintaining schedules, and optimizing field operations.
- Partner with Estimating and Operations to pursue and support self-perform opportunities on new work.
- Promote and reinforce Elford's safety culture while maintaining high standards for quality and accountability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop field teams while driving operational performance across multiple projects.
Qualifications- 10+ years of commercial construction experience with a strong field leadership background.
- Experience leading self-perform operations with 100+ carpenters, laborers, and skilled trades professionals.
- Background in commercial and industrial construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, manpower planning, labor productivity, and field operations.
- Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with project teams and executive leadership.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams.
