Description
The OpportunityAs a Security Systems Designer at ADRM, you will help shape sophisticated physical security systems across complex enterprise environments. This role is for a designer who brings strong technical fundamentals while also thinking beyond established standards and familiar solutions.
You will translate security requirements into thoughtful, buildable designs while continuously looking for opportunities to improve how systems are designed, integrated, and deployed. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, stays current on emerging technologies and design practices, and is comfortable bringing forward new ideas when there is a smarter or more effective way to solve a problem.
Requirements
What You'll Do- Design complex, integrated physical security systems within existing enterprise environments
- Develop comprehensive design documents including CAD and BIM drawings, countermeasure schedules, cabling and conduit schedules, device typicals, risers, programming schedules, budgets, and specifications
- Bring fresh thinking to security design challenges, evaluating new technologies, products, and approaches rather than defaulting to how things have always been done
- Identify opportunities to improve existing security standards, design methodologies, system performance, and overall effectiveness
- Develop project construction documents and detailed security scopes of work
- Participate in site visits and pre-construction assessments to understand existing conditions and inform design decisions
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, architects, engineers, security integrators, and ADRM team members throughout the design and implementation lifecycle
- Evaluate design alternatives and provide clear, technically sound recommendations based on project requirements and real-world constraints
- Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity while maintaining quality and meeting project schedules
- Review Security Contractor submittals and deliverables for alignment with design intent and project requirements
- Provide commissioning and punch-list services to verify system installation and performance
- Develop and maintain as-built documentation based on commissioning findings and contractor reports
- Stay current on emerging physical security technologies, products, and industry practices and bring relevant ideas forward for consideration
What You'll Bring - 5+ years of experience in physical security system design
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and experience developing detailed security design and construction documents
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu; BIM/Revit experience
- Experience designing integrated access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related physical security systems
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments and established design standards
- A curious, inventive approach to design - you are comfortable questioning assumptions, exploring alternatives, and presenting well-reasoned recommendations
- Ability to balance creativity and innovation with client requirements, technical standards, constructability, and operational needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a distributed team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Ability to walk long distances during site visits and commissioning activities

Salary Description
$95,000.00 - $130,000.00 annual
