Overview

Responsibilities

As The Security Specialist PERSEC Lead, you will:

  • Administer personnel-security actions involving eligibility, access, trust, need-to-know, and associated records in classified environments.
  • Process and track personnel actions, coordinate information in approved Government systems, maintains complete documentation, and support timely decisions affecting workforce access.
  • Work with Government security personnel, supervisors, employees, visitors, and contractor representatives to resolve discrepancies and ensure that indoctrination, debriefing, access, and related personnel-security workflows are completed correctly.
  • Through accurate records, careful handling of sensitive personal information, and consistent application of established procedures, the Security Specialist PERSEC helps ensure that only properly authorized individuals receive and retain access required for mission performance.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Process and track personnel-security actions involving eligibility, access, indoctrination, debriefing, and need-to-know determinations.
  • Maintain accurate personnel-security records and update authorized Government systems with current status information.
  • Review access and personnel packages for completeness, required approvals, supporting documentation, and procedural compliance.
  • Coordinate with Government security personnel, supervisors, employees, and contractor representatives to resolve personnel-security issues.
  • Monitor pending actions, expirations, changes in status, and other conditions that could affect authorized access.
  • Prepare personnel-security reports, rosters, correspondence, briefings, and action documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, records reviews, and corrective actions involving personnel-security processes.
  • Protect sensitive personnel information and apply approved handling, dissemination, and records-management procedures.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline and 10 years of directly relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus 14 years of directly related work experience.
  • Specialized experience with flag-officer level briefings and senior-level interface
  • Experience must include support to Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information environments
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively across Government, contractor, and external stakeholders; prepare briefings, reports, standard operating procedures, and official correspondence; and lead a team in fast paced classified environments.
  • CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; must be able to meet any applicable Special Access Program eligibility requirements identified by the Government.

 

Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $132,500.00/Yr. - USD $221,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
