Position Summary:We're looking for a Security Projects and Operations Engineer to support the deployment, optimization, and ongoing effectiveness of our cybersecurity tools and platforms. This is a hybrid role based in Etobicoke, ON.
In this role, you'll ensure security technologies are properly configured, fully integrated, and continuously optimized to support threat detection and response. You'll play a key role across both day-to-day security operations and project-based initiatives- helping to strengthen our security posture through hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams.

What You'll Do:Security Engineering & Tool Optimization:- Configure, deploy, and maintain core security technologies (e.g., firewalls such as Palo Alto, FortiGate, or Meraki; Cloudflare WAF; CrowdStrike; SIEM; Netskope, Forescout, ExtraHop).
- Ensure tools are fully integrated across systems, including logging platforms, identity services, and automation workflows.
- Perform regular tuning, validation, and optimization to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
- Ensure consistent telemetry, log forwarding, and data quality across security platforms.
- Maintain configuration baselines, version control, and change management documentation.
Security Operations & Threat Support:- Support day-to-day security operations, including escalation handling and troubleshooting.
- Analyze alerts, anomalies, and tool outputs to identify misconfigurations or potential threats.
- Assist with incident response activities, including containment, remediation, and recovery.
- Develop and refine detection logic, dashboards, and alerting within security tools.
- Partner with SOC and engineering teams to ensure tools effectively support threat detection and response.
Project Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Lead or support security technology initiatives, including tool onboarding, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, network, and application teams to embed security requirements into project delivery.
- Provide technical expertise across areas such as endpoint protection, network security, cloud security, and threat visibility.
- Contribute to technical reviews and recommend improvements aligned with best practices and evolving threats.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation, including runbooks, configurations, and architecture artifacts.
- Track and report on tool performance, health, and optimization outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance security operations.
- Support audit and compliance activities through control validation and evidence collection.
What You'll Bring:- 4-6 years of experience in security engineering, security operations, or IT infrastructure roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field (Master's in Cybersecurity is an asset).
- Relevant certifications such as AZ-500, AZ-900, or ISC2 (or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with multiple security tools (e.g., firewalls, CrowdStrike, Azure/Intune, Netskope, Forescout, ExtraHop).
- Strong understanding of security operations practices, methodologies, and tooling.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations and IT compliance requirements.
- Experience in healthcare environments is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

What We Offer:Salary range: $81,431 - $103,825 CAD annually (commensurate with experience).
