Full Job Description
Amentum is seeking a Security Operations Director to support a government contract based near El Paso, TX.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Operations Director assists the Security Operations Director with the leadership and management of the East Montana Detention Facility. With a total design capacity of 5,000 residents, the facility serves dual operational functions as both a detention facility and humanitarian overflow site. In the event of emergency surge conditions, direct and coordinate facility operations to accommodate different population types while maintaining appropriate security levels and service delivery standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with implementing the detention facility policies and operational procedures.
  • Direct oversite of detention operations within the facilities.
  • Directs the preparation, planning and implementation of all programs related to security and detainee safety.
  • May serve as a liaison between the detention center and designated government agency while supporting Program mission IAW international, USG, NDS 2026 Program, and PWS (Performance Work Statement) goals and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with NDS 2026, PWS performance requirement standards, management practices including but not limited to monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, briefings, etc.
  • Assist with incident reports, review officer reports for accuracy, and maintain timekeeping records. Maintain detailed records and reports related to detention activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available for on-call support within two hours to meet with government and program leadership as required.
  • Serves as the Acting Warden when necessary.
  • Serves as the Administrative Duty Officer.
  • Interfaces with the Government and US Military on Ft Bliss.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops local custodial procedures and ensures program compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Shall hold an accredited bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (i.e., a bachelor's degrees such as, but not limited to, criminal justice, criminology, or corrections administration) or have a minimum of three years of significant corrections or ICE detention experience, and have knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures, and requirements for managing a secure detention/correctional facility.
  • Must be familiar with current global, ICE, DHS and NDS 2026 requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of detention facility regulations, detention program objectives, policies, and national detention standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively lead staff, interact with detainees, and prepare accurate reports.
  • The ability to motivate and manage a team, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screening, and possess a government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance


LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

On-site support required at Camp East Montana (CEM), El Paso, Texas, with occasional travel to Washington DC or other locations for congressional engagements or program needs. This is a full-time position in a dynamic, 24/7 operational environment subject to evolving priorities and potential high-visibility scrutiny.
