About the RoleAs our
Security Manager, you will lead all aspects of hotel safety, security, and loss prevention while fostering a safe, welcoming environment for guests, team members, and visitors. You will oversee the property's security operation, emergency preparedness, investigations, and regulatory compliance while partnering closely with hotel leadership to protect our people, assets, and reputation.
This role is ideal for a hospitality leader who is calm under pressure, highly visible, and committed to creating a culture of safety, service, and accountability.
Your ImpactYou will play a critical role in protecting the hotel, its guests, and team members by developing proactive safety initiatives, leading investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of security throughout the property.
What You'll Be DoingLeadership & Ownership- Lead all hotel security and loss prevention operations
- Supervise, coach, and develop the Security team
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and exceptional guest service
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the property
Safety & Security Operations- Develop and implement security procedures and emergency response plans
- Monitor hotel security systems, surveillance equipment, and access control
- Conduct routine property inspections and security audits
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and critical incidents
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders when necessary
Investigations & Risk Management- Conduct investigations involving guest incidents, employee matters, theft, property damage, and workplace accidents
- Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain confidential documentation
- Identify security risks and implement corrective action plans
- Support insurance claims and risk management initiatives
Guest & Team Member Safety- Promote a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members
- Respond professionally to guest concerns and emergency situations
- Conduct safety training and emergency drills
- Partner with Human Resources on workplace investigations and safety initiatives
Team Collaboration- Partner closely with Engineering, Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, and hotel leadership
- Support hotel operations while balancing guest service and safety priorities
- Promote a culture of communication and collaboration across departments
Compliance & Standards- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, California workplace safety requirements, and company policies
- Support Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) compliance and training
- Maintain required safety records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with fire life safety regulations and hotel emergency procedures
Financial & Business Performance- Manage departmental budgets and security-related expenses
- Monitor contract security services and vendor relationships when applicable
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining security standards

Leadership Requirements- Proven leadership experience in hotel security, loss prevention, or public safety
- Experience leading investigations and incident response

- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Experience managing departmental budgets and operational performance
Technical / Role-Specific Requirements- Strong knowledge of hotel security operations and loss prevention practices
- Experience conducting investigations and writing detailed incident reports
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, California workplace safety laws, and emergency preparedness
- Experience with fire life safety systems, CCTV, access control, and security technology
- Understanding of Workplace Violence Prevention Plans (WVPP), emergency response procedures, and crisis management
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred
Education- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
