Full Job Description
What you will do:

Under general direction, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete building electronic systems including security and other low voltage control sub-systems (e.g., intrusion, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet the intent of the project requirements. You will be accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs. This role involves developing complex software programs, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations. You will provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, the field installation team, and subcontractors.
How you will do it:
  • Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity: Design and configure technically complex building electronic security systems as defined by the contract documents. Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics as required.
  • Focus on what matters by staying close to the work and removing obstacles: Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
  • Coordinate and create the necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
  • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules.
  • Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
  • Provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
  • Inform management and contractors or customers of job progress and issues.
  • Assist in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on system functionality.
  • Improve every day through continuous improvement, candor, and problem-solving: Participate in release meetings with project field teams. Perform value engineering to provide cost-effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • May provide work direction to Systems Design Assistants.
  • Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
What we look for:
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Drafting (AutoCAD) preferred, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design of Fire and Security systems.
  • Experienced with NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code) and the ability to acquire appropriate licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
  • Proven track record in drafting/CAD, digital literacy estimating/pricing, and project management. Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding architectural and electrical diagrams.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in Fire Alarm, Security, Nurse Call, CCTV, and/or the Construction Industry, with knowledge of multiple electronic building systems.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical systems and their interface to fire alarm systems.


HIRING SALARY RANGE: $88k-120,000k (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
