OVERVIEWWe're looking for a hands-on Security Engineer to support our security integration vertical, security technology offerings, and general technical engineering work. This is a remote role. You'll design and engineer physical security systems, support enterprise deployments, and serve as a core technical resource across integration projects.
You'll handle system design and CAD work and program cameras and devices ahead of deployment. This is an engineering role, not a configuration role. If you design a solution when a task needs one, reverse-engineer a vendor's protocol to make it fit, and take pride in clean, well-documented work, we want to talk to you.
JOB REQUIREMENTSSystem Design & Integration: - Design and engineer physical security systems for enterprise clients, including sensor arrays, edge computing nodes, and supporting network infrastructure
- Produce mechanical and system designs using CAD tools to support integration and deployment
- Program and stage cameras and security devices ahead of client deployments
- Document installation configurations and system designs
- Design structured cabling, power distribution, and network infrastructure supporting deployed systems
Technical Engineering & Operations: - Support the security integration vertical across concurrent project threads
- Evaluate candidate components, subsystems, and vendor technologies for integration into FCS offerings
- Author installation guides, SOPs, and technical specifications for deployed systems
- Coordinate with external vendors, integration partners, and internal teams as project needs require
- Support general technical engineering tasks and business application administration as needed
REQUIREMENTS- + years of hands-on experience in physical security systems engineering, electromechanical integration, or a related hardware discipline
- Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot systems involving sensors, embedded hardware, edge computing, or custom electronics
- Proficiency with CAD tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar) for system and mechanical design
- Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals: VLANs, PoE, switching, and firewall basics
- Experience programming and configuring IP cameras and security devices
- Comfortable reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical datasheets
- Self-directed work ethic with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently in a remote setting
Strongly Preferred:
- Background in physical security technologies: VMS platforms (Milestone, Genetec, or similar), access control, LPR, or detection systems
- Experience with Axis, Hanwha, or comparable IP camera ecosystems including analytics and ACAP/app deployment
- Familiarity with Linux/embedded Linux environments for edge device configuration and diagnostics
- Exposure to controlled or regulated environments requiring documentation discipline (government, pharma, critical infrastructure)
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and business application administration
- Military, law enforcement, or security industry background is a plus
