Job Description:

Job Summary: The Sector Security Manager (SSM) is responsible and accountable to define and implement the site security plans at various sites throughout the Airbus Americas business domain including affiliates. The SSM's primary role is oversight and direction of protection of the integrity, people, processes, and assets, including information, for Airbus Americas Inc. sites and support locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Initiate and Plan Programs: 45 %
  • Manage and develop security employees in the following functions: guarding, surveillance, reception, remote surveillance, security administration, office security services, monitoring activities (anti-intrusion, video, access control system etc.)
  • Manage internal and external security staff of 70 - 120 employees to ensure compliance with all Airbus policies and local, federal, airport and TSA requirements
  • Responsible for all surveillance activities for sites under the purview of the SSM
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the assets, industrial processes, logistics, and supply chain and oversee the participation of the SSM's management of key vendors/service providers involved in the process.
  • Coordinate all activities between the SSM(s) and the local contracted security services to enhance the overall security product by aligning contingency, protection and intervention plans.
  • Ensure that security risks are managed and resulting processes are in place to sustain security risk management.
  • Ensure security events are managed, reported, investigated, and assessed (impact and root causes), and that corrective and preventive actions are taken and recorded.


Oversee Program Governance: 25 %

  • Develop program scope, definition and approval
  • Set metrics and targets
  • Manage KPI and Performance of security vendors
  • Manage annual operating budget and execute mission within budget
  • Liaise with Crisis Management team to support and align processes for emergencies
  • Prepare and deliver site plans and risk assessments
  • Coordinate and participate in audits


Manage Program Teams & Stakeholders: 25%

  • Ensure stakeholders are aligned and expectations are met while adhering to Airbus Policies
  • Collect and document stakeholder requirements
  • Work effectively with Airbus Americas Country Security Manager, Site Directors and other stakeholders such as HR, Finance, IT, and Legal to address security requirements and concerns
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts
  • Communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, supervise, and recognize program team members
  • Maintain program support through interaction with senior leaders to ensure adequate resources for crisis management operations.
  • Track program milestones and deliverables
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Serve as the primary liaison with local law enforcement, with oversight of other locations in North America

Job Dimensions: Individual will manage a team of outside security vendors to ensure the safety and security of our sites ranging from office to manufacturing, will maintain budgets for those sites and ensure vendors meet all KPI; create risk assessments to include workplace violence and present to senior level managers. Ability to communicate with employees, vendors, and visitors effectively.

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
