We are seeking a senior credit research leader to join our Global Credit Research team supporting Fixed Income Solutions. The candidate will serve as the lead sector manager for Consumer and Healthcare, overseeing research coverage and investment judgment across global public and private credit exposures. This role combines hands-on sector expertise, people leadership, research oversight, and cross-platform engagement across cash/MMF, investment grade, high yield, leveraged loans, CLOs, structured credit, and related fixed income mandates. The role is responsible for setting sector research priorities, shaping actionable investment views, strengthening risk frameworks, and ensuring credit insights are translated into portfolio-relevant recommendations for Global Fixed Income strategies.
JOB SCOPE:Key responsibilities for Sector Lead for Consumer and Healthcare, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the senior subject matter expert and sector lead for Consumer and Healthcare, including oversight of issuer-level research, sector strategy, risk identification, and investment recommendations across the credit platform.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to portfolio managers, traders, and risk teams by providing senior investment judgment on issuer fundamentals, capital structure, relative value, structural protections, recovery outcomes, and downside risk across investment grade, high yield, leveraged loans, CLO collateral, private credit, and money market exposures.
- Lead analyst coverage, research priorities, surveillance standards, and sector risk frameworks across consumer, healthcare and leisure, ensuring consistent application of fundamental credit analysis, rating discipline, and portfolio-relevant documentation.
- Develop and communicate sector views that connect consumer demand, utilization trends, reimbursement and regulatory dynamics, labor and input-cost pressures, operating leverage, refinancing needs, liquidity access, and rating migration risk to portfolio construction and risk positioning.
- Contribute to top-down sector allocation, cross-asset relative value, and risk-targeting discussions, including theme development, concentration risk assessment, and risk/return framing for portfolio managers across strategies.
- Partner with research, portfolio management, trading, risk, product, and client-facing teams to promote consistent sector views, timely escalation of credit deterioration, and disciplined execution across investment vehicles.
- Evaluate new issue pipelines, amendments, repricings, tenders, restructurings, liability management transactions, and secondary opportunities with a focus on covenant quality, collateral value, liquidity profile, downside protection, and portfolio suitability.
- Support internal credit forums, portfolio review meetings, watch list governance, rating-change discussions, and escalation protocols tied to global fixed income exposures.
- Identify emerging risks, structural market changes, demand/supply imbalances, and investment opportunities within consumer, healthcare and leisure, and communicate implications proactively to senior investment leadership.
- Coach, develop, and challenge analysts by setting clear expectations, reviewing investment conclusions, strengthening written credit work, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, intellectual rigor, and independent judgment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree and/or CFA preferred
- At least 15 years of experience in fixed income research with demonstrated performance across credit cycles
- Deep understanding of consumer and healthcare credit drivers, including demand elasticity, reimbursement and regulatory risk, labor and input-cost inflation, operating leverage, free cash flow resilience, refinancing risk, capital structures, credit documentation, and market technicals
- Experience evaluating credit across investment grade, high yield, leveraged loans, CLO collateral, private credit and/or structured credit exposures preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading analysts, setting research direction, and influencing portfolio decisions across investment teams
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Track record of fostering a culture of accountability, intellectual rigor, and collaboration across research teams
Salary Range: $120,000 - $217,500 Annual
