About the role
As a SDET/Automation Test Lead, you will make an impact by driving quality engineering excellence through scalable test automation, AI-enabled testing practices, and modern quality assurance strategies. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.

In this role, you will:
• Lead quality assurance and test automation strategies across customer engagements, ensuring quality, scalability, and timely delivery.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust UI, API, and end-to-end automation frameworks using industry-leading tools and best practices.
• Provide guidance, code reviews for Quality Engineers, SDETs, and automation teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, establish quality gates, and drive continuous quality improvements.
• Implement and expand automation coverage across functional, regression, integration, API, and performance testing while enabling CI/CD and shift-left testing practices.
• Leverage AI and GenAI-based testing approaches, self-healing automation frameworks, and quality engineering accelerators to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.

What you need to have to be considered
• 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with significant experience as an SDET, Automation Lead, or Lead Quality Engineer.
• Hands-on expertise designing and scaling automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, Katalon, or similar technologies.
• Strong API automation experience using tools such as ReadyAPI, REST Assured, Postman, SOAP UI, or equivalent platforms.
• Proficiency in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript with experience developing maintainable automation solutions.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and quality engineering best practices.
• Experience leading QA teams, driving automation initiatives, and establishing quality governance across programs.

These will help you stand out
• Experience with GenAI-powered testing solutions, AI-assisted quality engineering, or self-healing automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of test optimization techniques and intelligent automation accelerators.
• Experience implementing quality engineering transformations within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Exposure to cloud-native applications, microservices testing, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and consulting skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until August 31, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100- $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
