About the Role:

The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating the Scrum process, coaching the team, and removing obstacles so the team can deliver on-time feature delivery in support of General Dynamics vehicle electronic systems.

Onsite: Due to the nature of the work, this role is required to be onsite.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
  • Guides the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.
  • Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement. Employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
  • Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
  • Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicate effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team.
  • Works with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
  • Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
  • Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role.
  • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
  • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Acts as a leader who coaches and supports Agile teams assigned to mainly Business as Usual (BAU) work and to a lesser degree, important department initiatives and applicable portions of corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Program Owner and RTE on backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Monitor sprint progress, team performance, and delivery metrics.
  • Provide clear, concise updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Helps maintain project timelines and identify risks.
  • Experience with safety critical systems or real time systems is desirable
  • Experience working with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure, DevSecOps)
  • Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / What you must have
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years project development experience.
  • 2 years Scrum Master experience
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications

Additional Information / Desired Experience

This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)

This position will require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
  • Be a self-starter and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills and able to work with all levels of the organization and across functions.
  • Organization will be essential due the volume of tasks and projects and being able to align with tight deadlines and lead times.
  • Work environment will consist of prototype shop, laboratory, manufacturing, and office.
  • Able to work overtime when required.
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required. Works well in team and individually.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience working on ground combat Vehicles desired.
