The selected candidate will work within a fast-paced, interactive, and innovative research team to assist in the development of novel antibodies. This role will require a highly cross-functional skillset, including cell biology, immunology, and protein engineering.
Requirements
Responsibilities
• Design and perform studies critical for antibody discovery and validation, including protein expression, purification, and analysis (e.g., CHO / 293T transfection, Protein A or G purification, SEC / SDS-PAGE / Western blot characterization), binding assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, SPR, BLI), functional assays (e.g., microscopy, fluorescence reporter assays), and immunological assays (e.g., ADCP, ADCC)
• Support translational studies that further elucidate the mechanism and biology for drug candidates, including potential biomarker development
• Analyze experimental data and present findings to the team.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental procedures, results, and conclusions.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to the design and planning of experiments.
• Communicate effectively with team members and external collaborators.
• Contribute to due diligence and gap analysis on potential new GondolaBio assets
Education, Experience & Skills Requirements
• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 2+ years hands-on industry experience. M.S. and B.S. candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, PCR, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate)
• Proficiency in protein expression and purification methods (e.g., mammalian, insect, and bacterial expression systems).
• Experience with antibody screening and developability assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, SPR, BLI, developability assessments
• Experience working with cell lines in tissue cultures, running western blots and cell-based assays.
• Experience with downstream immunological assays (e.g., ADCP, ADCC, CDC, multicolor flow cytometry)
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong scientific background and achievements in bioscience and translational medicine, ideally demonstrated by scientific publications, presentations, and/or patents
