DescriptionPosition OverviewMHS is seeking a full-time nightshift Registered School Nurse (RN) to provide acute and comprehensive health care for students in pre-K through 12th grade. The school's unique, child-centered Health Services model allows nurses to focus where their heart is: on student and patient care.
MHS operates a 24/7/365 on-campus Health Center with a 40-bed infirmary, along with three school medical clinics equipped with state-of-the-art resources. Nurses work as part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting student health, wellness, and success.
At MHS, educating the whole child includes providing comprehensive health and wellness services. Students receive free medical, dental, and psychological care, including age-appropriate care from dedicated nursing staff and pediatricians whose sole practice is devoted to MHS students. Students also benefit from access to medical specialists both on and off campus.
Schedule and Work EnvironmentMHS RNs work year-round. The current available shift is Monday through Friday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., at the Health Center. This role includes rotation coverage for holidays, emergency conditions such as snow, mandatory enrollments, and students returning to campus after holiday breaks. RNs are represented by the Milton Hershey Education Association (MHEA).
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual salary range is $78,832 to $105,227, plus shift differential. Pay is determined based on experience. Full-time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package, including paid time off, medical and dental insurance, and financial benefits.
Qualifications- PA Registered Nurse License required, bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred
- Minimum of two years nursing experience, physical assessment, primary pediatric, school health and/or emergency nursing, and counseling skills
- Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in PA, required
- Valid PA Driver's license, in good standing
- Ability and willingness to be flexible regarding the work schedule is essential
- Current CPR certification and advanced first aid training
- School Nurse Certification a plus
- Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for the MHS Students
