Position Description:Direct Planning & Scheduling teams for specified Market Segment Group, portfolio accounts, or multiple projects of various complexity and duration, and provide guidelines for schedule development. Lead evaluation of Planning & Scheduling practices and partner with key stakeholders to implement standards and procedures for Turner's Planning & Scheduling philosophy.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction to project leadership (within specified Market Segment Group, portfolio accounts, or multiple projects of various complexity and duration) to advance Planning & Scheduling evolution and impacts to project delivery.
  • Lead and provide guidance to project Planning & Scheduling team to develop and ensure consistency and foster alignment with assigned project's strategic goals.
  • Drive implementation of Planning & Scheduling standards and best practices for assigned projects.
  • Participate and contribute to Constructability Reviews to provide expertise in complex scheduling.
  • Manage workforce planning for staff capacity in support of project demands working in collaboration with Scheduling Leadership Team and local project leadership.
  • Mentor and encourage growth and development of lead scheduling resources to set expectations and clarify roles and responsibilities that support company and project strategies.
  • Take ownership of project's claims management and other aspects of scheduling analysis and special studies working in collaboration with project and scheduling teams and/or participate in leadership review of scheduling claims.
  • Oversee Critical Path Method (CPM) logic generated schedules for projects to identify scheduling risks and uncommon challenges.
  • Perform audits of BU and/or specific project teams in effort to track advancement and commitment to performing scheduling at the highest level.
  • Engage with Virtual Design Construction (VDC) to develop integration standards with scheduling functions company wide.
  • Participate in Business Development (BD) and business unit marketing activities in development and preparation of proposal presentations, including developing preliminary bar chart schedules and staffing charts.
  • Assess owner's conceptual design to develop project's initial schedule to meet owner expectations.
  • Serve as subject matter expert to project teams' to support development of specialty scheduling expertise and knowledge.
  • Oversee project monthly progress updates, cost and/or resource loaded schedules, target comparisons, and periodic look-ahead schedules. Monitor progress at summary level.
  • Participate in schedule review meetings with project Scheduling team and Operations Review Meetings (ORMs).
  • Oversee collaboration with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team to synchronize project schedules and models.
  • Conduct scheduling audits of project teams, review results with project stakeholders, and address feedback from Internal Review and Compliance teams.
  • Participate in external organizations, conferences, and events beneficial to Planning & Scheduling function to keep updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and minimum of 15 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Scheduling Certification desired (e.g., Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP))
  • Broad scope and various complexity of construction project experience with progressive responsibility
  • Experience in construction project engineering and supervision positions
  • Complex commissioning experience, desired
  • Extensive knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and Trade practices
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
  • Advanced experience developing metrics, tracking results, conducting gap analysis, and managing scheduling risks
  • Advanced knowledge of estimates for project schedule development
  • Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling including cost and resource loading
  • Demonstrate elements of emotional intelligence including self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship management
  • Knowledge of earned value concepts and using construction resources to validate productivity and durations
  • Exceptional ability to lead and support change delays and claims
  • In depth critical thinking and analytical skills to address complex problems
  • Adept to manage through ambiguity and changing environments and demands
