Manager of SBIRT -- Institute for Prevention and Recovery

At the Institute for Prevention and Recovery (IFPR), the Manager of SBIRT becomes part of a purpose-driven team working to expand access to Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). As Manager of SBIRT, you will manage the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of SBIRT by providing oversight to all assigned staff and implementing education and training for health care professionals at RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH) facilities related to substance-use disorder screening and referral to treatment. A typical day for a Manager of SBIRT may include:
  • Providing system-wide oversight of all SBIRT staff and related efforts and activities
  • Coordinating with all internal and external partners, including grant-funded technical assistance providers, substance-use treatment providers, and other agencies
  • Providing input on policies and procedures focused on SBIRT utilization
  • Working collaboratively with providers, administrators, and community partners to facilitate educational initiatives such as grand rounds
    • Developing content and presentations based upon the assessment of learners and the deficits identified
  • Performing other duties as assigned
