Full Job Description
The Production Superintendent is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the unit manager and is responsible for the safe coordination and oversight of the daily activities in the sawmill and log yard departments, which includes interfacing with the logging group and finishing department at the Lumber facility in McComb, MS. This position is a key member of the McComb leadership team. The successful candidate will be a safety role model with excellent team skills and a proven ability to lead and develop people.

The job includes, but not limited to the following duties:
  • Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, planning, scheduling and general supervision of work, evaluating job performance, and providing regular feedback and coaching for development of shift supervisors, as well as hourly production associates.
  • Coordinate the departmental safety processes and education to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Improves and maintains department performance according to set objectives and established goals for safety, quality, waste reduction, housekeeping and process reliability.
  • Provides leadership for process improvement, regular team meetings and safety; facilitates proactive problem-solving.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely production reporting.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Business, Industrial Engineering, or other related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of manufacturing experience in a leadership position.
  • Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a complex and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $98,800-$148,200 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
