Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP FI (Financial Accounting) and PS (Project Systems) modules to meet business requirements
- Analyze business processes and translate functional requirements into technical specifications and system configurations
- Configure and maintain integration points between FI-PS and other SAP modules including CO, MM.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis, create functional specifications, and recommend process improvements for financial and project accounting workflows
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including project settlement, WBS capitalization, and financial reporting
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans including unit testing, integration testing, UAT coordination, and post-go-live validation
- Provide end-user training, create training materials, system documentation, and user guides for FI-PS functionalities
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to ensure system stability
- Work closely with ABAP developers to design custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects)
- Support data migration activities including data extraction, cleansing, validation, and upload into SAP FI-PS modules
- Stay current with SAP updates, new features, and industry trends to recommend system enhancements and optimization opportunities
- Participate in project planning, effort estimation, and provide status updates to project management and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, SOX regulations, and corporate financial policies within SAP system design
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP FI/PS Functional Consultant with at least 3-4 full lifecycle implementations
- Strong expertise in SAP FI modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA)
- Deep knowledge of SAP PS module including project structures, WBS elements, networks, activities, capacity planning, and project settlement
- Proven experience with SAP integration points between FI-PS-CO, including internal orders, cost centers, and profitability analysis
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, project accounting methodologies, GAAP/IFRS standards, and SOX compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose complex system and process issues
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, conduct workshops, and effectively communicate with business users and technical teams
- Experience with SAP configuration tools, transactions, and utilities (FS00, CJ20N, KO01, FB50, F-02, etc.)
- Strong documentation skills with ability to create functional specifications, test scripts, and comprehensive user training materials
Desired:
- SAP certification in FI and/or PS modules (SAP Certified Application Associate)
- Experience with S/4HANA Finance and Project Systems, including migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori applications and SAP BW/BI reporting
