Full Job Description
The Sanitation Manager is responsible for leading and directing the sanitation team in maintaining a clean and safe production environment at the facility and off-site warehouse. The Sanitation Manager creates, develops, implements, and enforces sanitation programs for the facility. This role includes ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations, managing sanitation schedules of equipment, and helping facilitating communication between team members and management. The Sanitation Manager will play a critical role in audit compliance and support, while promoting cleanliness and safety for the production of high-quality dry powder products.

Shift: Monday through Friday 6:00AM-4:00PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop, and supervise the sanitation team by providing coaching, training, performance feedback, and accountability to foster a safe, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sanitation activities to support production schedules while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Develop staffing plans and labor schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), equipment cleaning procedures, environmental cleaning programs, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness through inspections, ATP testing, allergen verification, environmental monitoring, and other validation methods to ensure sanitary conditions are consistently achieved.
  • Lead sanitation readiness and serve as the primary contact during customer audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party certification audits.
  • Investigate sanitation-related deviations, non-conformances, and food safety concerns, implementing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes.
  • Monitor sanitation performance metrics (KPIs) and identify opportunities to improve cleaning effectiveness, labor efficiency, equipment uptime, and overall operational performance.
  • Coordinate sanitation activities with Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to minimize downtime while ensuring equipment is properly cleaned and ready for startup.
  • Verify equipment readiness following sanitation activities and support production startup to ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety requirements.
  • Manage sanitation chemical inventories, ensuring proper storage, labeling, usage, and employee training in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and proper operation of sanitation equipment and tools to maximize reliability and effectiveness.
  • Partner with chemical suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate new products, technologies, and processes that improve sanitation performance, food safety, and cost efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of food safety, employee safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence through active leadership and employee engagement.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records, documentation, and reports to support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and operational performance.

Position Requirements:
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience
  • Food grade manufacturing facility experience
  • HACCP Certification, SQF Practitioner, PCQI
  • 3-5 years previous GMP experience
  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The starting annual base salary range for this position is between $100,000-$110,000 USD with initial eligibility consideration for our Discretionary Incentive Plan. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to education, skill set and depth of experience. Additional Compensation offered to eligible employees: Mobile Device Reimbursement and Travel Reimbursement.
