Job Summary

Responsible for driving profitable revenue growth by developing and executing sales strategies for engineered rental, sales, and service solutions throughout an assigned region. Serve as the technical subject matter expert, partnering with sales, operations, estimating, engineering, and customers to develop complex project solutions, increase market share, and support successful project execution. Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and executes regional sales strategies to grow Engineering Solutions revenue, profitability, and fleet utilization.

  • Conducts customer visits, project evaluations, presentations, and joint sales calls to identify, develop, and close engineered solution opportunities.

  • Collaborates with engineering, estimating, operations, logistics, and branch leadership to develop technical solutions, generate proposals, and support successful project execution.

  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with contractors, engineers, owners, industrial customers, and other key decision-makers.

  • Trains and coaches sales teams on Engineering Solutions products, applications, competitive positioning, and consultative selling techniques.

  • Analyzes market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs and provides recommendations to leadership to support business growth and market expansion.

  • Serves as the regional subject matter expert for engineered solutions, providing technical guidance and supporting solution development for customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Represents the company at trade shows, industry events, customer meetings, and other business development activities, and supports special projects as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be substituted.

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in technical sales, business development, engineering support, specialty rental, industrial services, construction, or related industries.

  • Experience supporting engineered and project-based solutions, including collaboration with engineering, estimating, and operations teams.

  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and grow strategic customer relationships through consultative selling and business development techniques.

  • Working knowledge of rental operations, estimating practices, engineering support, and construction or industrial markets.

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment without direct supervisory responsibility.

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills, with proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Technical aptitude with engineered products, equipment, and solution-based offerings; experience with Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD preferred.
