Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is seeking a Sales Representative tojoin ourteam. This individual promotes, coordinates, and participates in sales and related activities among selected accounts and prospects in assigned territories. Develops and grows business with key accounts in New England.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or year for year experience
  • 3 years sales or in the book industry

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within the book industry
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represents and sells titles from PGW, Two Rivers, and Ingram Academic publisher clients to bookstore customers within a large, defined geographical area in New England.
  • Performs new and backlist title sales, opens new accounts, establishes and maintains customer relations
  • Ensures high post-sales satisfaction facilitating positive long-term relationships and repeat business with customers
  • Keeps informed on new products and/or services and other general information of interest to customers
  • Informs customers of supply and price trends and assists in inventory control
  • Meets or exceeds annual growth targets with territory billing each year
  • Presentation of seasonal frontlist titles three times a year to assigned accounts
  • Works to promote and build backlist sales, place promotions in stores, highlight fast- moving titles and other opportunity titles.
  • Assists accounts with in-store promotions, co-op advertising, and other efforts to provide excellent service to booksellers
  • Introduces and recommends new books and other general information of interest to customers
  • Serves as liaison between bookstores and internal teams to resolve questions regarding titles and services
  • Works with sales counterparts and management to expand sales in market territory
  • Attends sales conferences, engages with publishers regarding current and future titles and sales needs
  • Acts as subject matter expert on categories, titles, market and competitive conditions, and advertising and promotional activities.
  • Coordinates with marketing and client publishers to recommend new titles, programs, and services to meet the business needs of assigned accounts.
  • Analyzes customer needs and interests, expediting the resolution of customer problems and/or complaints. Enlists the support of other departments as needed.
  • Maintains relationships with accounts to discuss business reviews, sales/returns levels, programs, services, problems, and/or issues. Provides information to accounts that can be used for sales forecasting.
  • Advances the profile of IPS publishers via store promotions, galley distribution, enthusiastic selling
  • Attends meetings in person and via Teams and Zoom as needed
  • Reads client publishers' titles to help create in-house and account enthusiasm

Hiring Salary Range: $74,353k - $99,011k. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. It will be determined by factors including but not limited to: the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geographic location, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
