Director of Community Relations - Assisted Living

The Lakewood Residence and The Lakewood Courtyard are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Community Relations to oversee sales, outreach, and occupancy growth for our connected independent living and assisted living community in Lakewood.

Located in the heart of Lakewood, our Kosher community offers older adults and families the opportunity to explore different levels of support within one connected setting. The Director of Community Relations will serve as a trusted guide throughout that process, taking the time to understand each family's needs, answer questions, and help them determine whether independent living or assisted living is the right fit.

This role is responsible for driving move-ins and increasing occupancy through strong lead generation, consistent follow-up, referral development, community outreach, effective tours, and confident sales execution. The ideal candidate is warm, relationship-driven, organized, and comfortable guiding families from their initial inquiry through the decision-making process and move-in. They must be able to build trust while also creating urgency, asking for the sale, and moving qualified prospects toward a clear next step.

Reports to: Executive Director, with coaching and support from Regional Sales Leadership

Responsibilities

  • Drive census growth and achieve community occupancy, move-in, and sales goals
  • Manage the full senior living sales process from initial inquiry through deposit and move-in
  • Respond promptly to leads and maintain consistent, personalized follow-up with prospective residents and families
  • Conduct community tours, discovery meetings, and sales presentations
  • Generate leads through business development, networking, community outreach, and referral development
  • Build strong referral relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, physicians, home care agencies, hospice providers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate lead, referral, tour, follow-up, and move-in activity in the CRM
  • Monitor conversion rates, lead sources, competitors, market trends, and other sales KPIs
  • Partner with clinical and operational teams to evaluate prospective residents and coordinate a smooth move-in experience
  • Represent the community at professional networking events, outreach visits, open houses, and local community events


Qualifications:

  • At least three years of successful senior living sales or closely related healthcare sales experience
  • Experience in assisted living, independent living, memory care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home care, hospice, or healthcare referral sales
  • Proven success in lead generation, referral development, closing sales, increasing census, and meeting occupancy goals
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and follow-up skills
  • Compassionate and professional approach when working with seniors and their families
  • Organized, motivated, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple prospects throughout the sales cycle
  • Experience using a senior living CRM and Microsoft Office or similar programs
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally work evenings or weekends for tours, outreach, and community events


$85,000 - $90,000 a year
  • Plus commission
