Full Job Description
Bring your relationships, hustle, and transaction expertise to a platform built for growth. Plante Moran Realpoint is looking for a proven Sale Leaseback Originator who can create opportunities, build trusted partnerships, and turn conversations into closed deals. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to build a strong pipeline of corporate, private equity, intermediary, and capital-source relationships.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Originate sale leaseback opportunities with corporations, owner-operators, private equity sponsors, and other capital decision-makers.
  • Build and manage a disciplined pipeline of qualified prospects, active opportunities, referrals, and repeat client relationships.
  • Develop referral relationships with investment bankers, commercial real estate brokers, lenders, attorneys, accountants, private equity professionals, and other transaction influencers.
  • Identify situations where a sale leaseback can unlock capital, support growth, improve liquidity, or optimize a company's balance sheet.
  • Lead early-stage client conversations, assess transaction viability, communicate value clearly, and create urgency.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, capital markets, legal, and execution teams to move opportunities from initial outreach through closing.
  • Maintain relationships with institutional buyers, net lease investors, REITs, family offices, and other active capital sources.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, industry events, and targeted business development meetings.
  • Track market activity, buyer appetite, pricing trends, and competitive dynamics to support origination strategy.
  • Meet or exceed origination, pipeline development, and closed transaction goals.


Required Qualifications
  • Five or more years of successful sale leaseback transaction experience.
  • Ten or more years of commercial real estate experience, preferably including net lease, corporate real estate, capital markets, investment sales, or structured real estate finance.
  • Proven track record of originating, negotiating, and closing transactions.
  • Established network of corporate decision-makers, private equity contacts, intermediaries, and institutional capital sources.
  • Strong understanding of sale leaseback structures, lease economics, tenant credit, valuation, due diligence, and execution.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with the discipline and persistence to convert prospects into closed transactions.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is: $125,000.00 - $225,000.00+
