Safety Professional for a short-term regional assignment based out of
Auburn, MA and supporting projects throughout Western Massachusetts.
This position will support crews performing
underground utility installation and maintenance across multiple project locations. The Safety Professional will spend significant time in the field working directly with crews and site leadership to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, client, and site-specific safety requirements.

What You'll Do - Build positive, professional relationships with field personnel, management, contractors, and outside agencies.
- Conduct regular field and crew safety audits across multiple project locations.
- Identify unsafe work conditions and practices and work with crews and leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Recognize and reinforce safe work practices throughout the project.
- Document and communicate site audit findings and safety observations.
- Review and audit training records for field personnel.
- Help implement applicable federal, state, local, client, and site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Review and participate in the development of accident briefs, safety publications, bulletins, and reports.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety-related meetings.
- Review client and owner safety requirements and help ensure project compliance.
- Travel between project locations throughout the assigned Western Massachusetts region as needed.
What We're Looking For Required: - Current CPR/First Aid certification
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant safety experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with field personnel, management, contractors, and clients
- Ability and willingness to travel between project locations throughout the assigned region
- Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based applications
Preferred: - CHST certification
- OSHA 500 certification
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous utility, underground construction, or related infrastructure safety experience
Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, and working on or around active construction sites. The Safety Professional must be able to communicate effectively, maintain appropriate visual awareness of the worksite, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
