Gerlinger Steel & Supply is hiring a
Safety Manager to maintain and develop compliance policies, promote a strong safety culture, and help ensure a safe working environment across operations.
This full-time role is based at our
Woodland, CA facility, which operates
Monday through Saturday. The ideal candidate will bring strong safety leadership, organizational skills, conflict resolution ability, and the confidence to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Requirements- Minimum 5 years of experience in one of the following:
- Safety Manager, or
- Operational Manager in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with oversight of at least 10 employees
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- CPR certification
- Fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English, including grammar, spelling, and sentence composition
- Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, discounts, percentages, and statistical safety calculations
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Conflict management and negotiation skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful or emergency situations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and government agencies
- Ability to adapt quickly as priorities and business needs change
- Ability to work independently and maintain a regular, reliable, and predictable schedule
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, internet research, and email communication
- Ability to learn and use additional software and technology as assigned
- Must be bondable, meaning trustworthy and reliable, with no criminal record involving fraudulent or dishonest behavior
- Must adhere to a strict drug- and alcohol-free workplace policy
Preferred Qualifications- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
- Certified Director of Safety (CDS) certification
- Additional safety leadership experience in industrial, steel, warehouse, or manufacturing environments
