We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to champion and maintain a strong safety culture across our projects. This role ensures the safety of employees, trade partners, visitors, and the public by implementing company safety programs, enforcing project-specific requirements, and maintaining compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA.
The Safety Manager will work closely with project leadership, field teams, and trade contractors to identify hazards, develop safe work plans, deliver training, and ensure that no project is considered successful unless it is built safely.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture on all assigned projects
- Implement and enforce company safety programs and project-specific safety plans
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, state, and local safety requirements
- Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and support safe work planning
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and project-specific safety training
- Coordinate with trade contractors to confirm safe work plans for high-risk activities
- Support safe execution of fall protection, excavation, scaffolding, cranes, heavy equipment, confined spaces, and other high-risk operations
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections and document findings and corrective actions
- Track safety performance, incident trends, inspections, and training records
- Lead or assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
- Facilitate third-party safety reviews and agency inspections
- Mentor safety staff and support the development of project team members
- Communicate safety concerns, trends, and corrective actions to leadership
- Support company-wide safety initiatives, policies, and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- 2-5+ years of construction safety experience
- Strong understanding of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and applicable safety regulations
- Experience managing safety on active construction sites
- Ability to identify hazards and support safe work planning
- Experience with high-risk construction activities (fall protection, cranes, excavation, etc.)
- Strong communication, documentation, training, and follow-through skills
- Ability to influence field teams and trade partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common safety or construction platforms
- OSHA 30 preferred; CHST, CSP, First Aid/CPR certifications a plus
- Experience with public works, education, healthcare, or occupied campuses preferred
