Murphy Company is seeking a
Safety Manager to join our Colorado team.
This position will work closely with the Vice President of Safety and the Regional Safety Manager to support multiple construction projects while helping maintain one of the industry's premier safety programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about protecting people, building relationships, coaching field leaders, and continuously improving safety performance.
Your Day-to-Day at Murphy Company - Conduct new employee safety orientations.
- Develop and maintain a project visitation schedule to ensure consistent field presence.
- Perform daily jobsite safety observations, inspections, and audits.
- Evaluate work environments and recommend solutions to eliminate or control occupational hazards.
- Document site observations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and communicate deficiencies to project management.
- Provide coaching and guidance to foremen, supervisors, and project managers on safety best practices.
- Escalate unresolved safety concerns to Safety Leadership.
- Deliver safety training and demonstrate proper use of safety equipment.
- Perform industrial hygiene monitoring as needed.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
- Conduct TapRooT® investigations when appropriate.
- Assist in managing employee injury cases and return-to-work processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout Murphy Company's safety program.
Bring Your A-Game! Our ideal candidate should possess the following traits:
- 3-5 years of construction and/or occupational safety and health experience.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience implementing new safety initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices.
- Demonstrated competency in fall protection, excavation safety, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, and hazard recognition.
- Self-motivation, professionalism, and a high level of integrity.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the region.
