What You'll Do:

Strategic Leadership
  • Architect and implement comprehensive HSE and Accident Prevention strategies
  • Champion a proactive safety culture that permeates every level of the organization
  • Align safety initiatives with business objectives to support growth and efficiency

Program Innovation
  • Design and oversee cutting-edge safety programs that set industry benchmarks
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and all applicable regulations
  • Leverage data analytics to continuously improve safety metrics and drive innovation

Risk Management & Compliance
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits across all operations
  • Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions
  • Collaborate with insurance providers to optimize coverage and manage claims

Team Development
  • Create and deliver engaging safety training programs for all employee levels
  • Mentor safety team members, including field technicians, to build a high-performing team
  • Foster a learning environment that promotes safety awareness and best practices

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as Kerr's safety ambassador in industry forums and regulatory matters
  • Partner with project teams to seamlessly integrate safety into operations
  • Provide expert guidance to senior management on safety strategy and performance


What You'll Need:
  • Preference/not mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in construction safety management
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, local, OSHA, and MSHA regulations
  • Demonstrated success in reducing incident rates and fostering safety culture in heavy civil construction
  • Proficiency in safety management software, HCSS, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels and drive change in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and company locations
