Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary safety resource for jobsites in Jackson, MS & Baton Rouge, LA
  • Develop and implement safety training programs including Competent Person classes
  • Conduct project pre-construction meetings and review safety plans
  • Perform safety assessments to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Provide coaching on safety leadership to project team members
  • Conduct documented safety walks using KPA EHS software
  • Investigate incidents to improve future safety measures

Full Job Description
Safety Manager II We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in our Jackson, MS region.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Safety resource for jobsites in Jackson, MS & Baton Rouge, LA, for water and commercial projects.
  • Develop and implement current safety training programs as required, including Competent Person classes.
  • Identify safety training needs and provide safety training as appropriate.
  • Conduct project pre-construction meetings and review site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct safety assessment to track trends and ensure compliance with company, Federal, and State regulatory standards.
  • Assists Project Management in developing site-specific safety plans.
  • Coach project team members on safety leadership & management practices.
  • Review Safety Task Assessment STA to provide feedback for improvement.
  • Conducts equipment training and evaluations.
  • Be able to deliver reports.
  • Conduct documented safety walks when visiting jobs via KPA EHS software.
  • Conduct incident investigations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Be able to assist injured employees in managing risk.
  • Set up clinics and hospitals before the job starts.

Technical skills:
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Data analysis
  • First Aid Certified
  • OSHA Standards
