The good-faith pay range for this role is $73,200 - $105,050 per year. Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.What your job will be like:Working under the supervision of the Safety & Health Group Leader, provide support to lab organizations through field inspections, exposure monitoring, and work observations to ensure compliance with Jefferson Lab's ES&H programs, 10 CFR 851, and applicable OSHA regulations and industry standards.
In this job you will:- Execute safety and health programs such as chemical inventory/SDS management, exposure monitoring, and hearing conservation
- Perform emergency equipment field inspections & industrial hygiene exposure monitoring as assigned; document and retain results using department procedures
- Conduct safety walkthroughs/audits of workspaces, identify corrective actions, and provide recommendations for their implementation
- Assist with fall protection permit reviews and scaffold inspections
- Review work control documents to ensure health & safety hazards are identified, and controls are adequate to address applicable hazards
- Perform all functions in a safe and responsible manner and encourage the same in fellow employees. Take a proactive view of safety and help coworkers do their jobs responsibly
Additional Responsibilities- Conduct professional development that leads to CIH certification or supports the maintenance of existing certifications.
Experience- Preferred: 2 or more years industrial hygiene, industrial safety
- Preferred: working at a DOE or DOD facility
Education- Required: Bachelor's Degree occupational safety & health, environmental health, science, or engineering
Licenses and Certifications- Preferred: Health Services\Certified Industrial Hygienist
- Preferred: Administrative Services\Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
