Full Job Description
Position Summary:

Vali, Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer General to join our team. This position requires experience implementing system safety processes and methodologies IAW Government and Industry Standards with a broad knowledge of MIL-STD-882 (series); during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical hardware and software systems in complex aerospace and/or weapons systems.

Experience Requirements:
  • Must be able to create briefings in PowerPoint and brief to a technical audience.
  • Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups.
  • Must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Extensive experience in systems safety, with a proven track record of successfully mitigating hazards in complex systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD/aerospace safety requirements & policy to include AR385-17.
  • Understanding of design reviews process and design gates for large Department of Defense (DOD) procurement programs.
  • Understanding of risk and hazard assessment, mitigations and acceptance.
  • Extensive experience evaluating project level safety programs to ensure compliance with DoD and Agency level safety guidance.
  • Must have experience providing feedback on design safety of the products delivered to the end user.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and presenting safety assessments to a diverse audience


Required Qualification & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution and 10 years' experience in system Safety engineering
  • Acceptable alternative: Bachelor's degree in scientific field (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science) with 15 years demonstrated skill and relevant experience in system safety engineering and/or software system safety engineering.
