Full Job Description
Raulli & Sons, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Safety Director to join our leadership team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a best-in-class safety culture across our facilities and field operations. The Safety Director will provide strategic vision, ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT standards, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead company-wide safety strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Provide leadership to the Shop Safety Manager and mentor site/field safety representatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with OSHA, DOT, DEC, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee DOT/FMCSA programs including driver qualification, vehicle inspections, and accident reporting.
  • Develop and enforce safety programs such as JHAs, fall protection, confined space, and lockout/tagout.
  • Establish and track safety KPIs such as incident rate reduction, compliance scores, and near-miss reporting.
  • Design and deliver engaging training programs that exceed OSHA requirements.
  • Lead emergency response planning, drills, and serve as Emergency Coordinator.
  • Partner with HR to integrate safety into onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7+ years of EHS leadership, preferably in construction or fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, rigging, MEWP, forklift safety, and crane operations.
  • Experience with OSHA Subpart R (Steel Erection) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
  • OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500/510 and CSP/CHST certification preferred.
  • FMCSA/DOT compliance experience required.
  • First Aid/CPR instructor certification preferred.
  • Must be comfortable in both office and occasional manufacturing/field environments
  • Regular attendance is required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds with assistance on rare occasions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, and hearing in shop and field environments.
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping when performing inspections.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative tasks.
  • Visual acuity to review reports, read technical documents, and observe safety compliance in the field.
Work Environment

This position operates across fabrication shops and field job sites, requiring a strong presence in both environments. The role involves exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and moving equipment. Proper PPE is required.
