Full Job Description
The Safety Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that promote a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring regular interaction with employees in the field, at plants, and in maintenance facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive safety program.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, and state regulations.
• Lead driver safety initiatives, including defensive driving, distracted driving prevention, and Hours of Service compliance.
• Analyze safety metrics, vehicle accidents, workers' compensation claims, and regulatory compliance trends.
• Oversee driver qualification files, DOT drug and alcohol testing programs, and CDL compliance.
• Conduct safety audits, plant and jobsite inspections, and ride-alongs.
• Partner with operations leadership to improve safety performance while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Coordinate workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of safety management experience, preferably in ready mixed concrete, construction materials, trucking, or heavy industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, DOT regulations, and commercial vehicle safety.
• Experience managing safety programs for large commercial fleets.
• CSP, ASP, CHST, CDS, or similar professional certification is preferred.
