Overview

Vista Aircraft Maintenance is seeking to hire a Compliance and Safety Manager to join our team in western Wisconsin supporting a FAA Part 145 Repair station. As a Compliance and Safety Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact tasked with ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, customer, quality, and safety requirements. This position oversees continuous compliance, quality, auditing and regulatory interfaces to maintain certifications and secure approvals.

This is a full-time, onsite position, reporting to the General Manager.

Compliance and Safety Manager Responsibilities
  • Maintain regulatory approvals, certifications, and operational authorizations.
  • Ensure company manuals, policies, and procedures remain current and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Administer and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety and compliance programs that support regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal compliance and safety audits of maintenance, quality, logistics, training, and support functions.
  • Manage the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) program/IEP and SMS program.
  • Lead investigations involving compliance deviations, audit findings, and non-conformances.
  • Oversee document control processes, including revisions, approvals, distribution, and retention. Maintain compliance records required for inspections and audits.
  • Develop and deliver safety and compliance-related training and awareness programs.
  • Conduct safety and compliance risk assessments and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide leadership and guidance; collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Training departments to ensure organizational safety and compliance objectives are achieved.

Required Education and Experience:
  • BS/BA in Aviation Management, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent aviation industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • 5 Years of experience in aviation maintenance, quality assurance, safety and regulatory compliance in a Part 145 Repair Station environment .
  • 3 Years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent professional certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation industry safety and compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of SMS, IEP, CAPA and auditing methodologies.
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and compliance management systems.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
