Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor with preference given to those with previous experience in Oil & Gas. If you are passionate about safety and safe work practices, this may be the perfect position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee safety policies and procedures for industrial sites
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
- Provide safety training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement
- Ensure compliance with Canadian occupational health and safety laws, including provincial regulations (e.g., Alberta OHS)
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to promote a safety-first culture
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and reports
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site
Qualifications:
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or equivalent certification required
- CRSP designation required
- Industrial experience required
- Strong knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations, including CSA standards and provincial OHS Acts
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and enforce corrective actions
- Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation tools
- Required tickets: H2S Alive, CSTS or CSO, WHMIS 2015, First Aid
