SAFe Agile Product Owner

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to support the client’s Electronic Submissions program. As part of a SAFe Agile Release Train, you will serve as the primary owner of the Team Backlog, including translating business needs into actionable user stories, driving prioritization, and ensuring the delivery team builds the highest‑value features for client stakeholders. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Own and prioritize the Team Backlog, ensuring stories are well‑defined, sequenced, and ready for implementation.

  • Translate high‑level Features into clear, testable user stories with acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate with Product Management, System Architects, Developers, QA, UX, and cross‑team Product Owners to align priorities and manage dependencies.

  • Participate in PI Planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, system demos, and Inspect & Adapt activities.

  • Review and accept completed work against definition of done and quality criteria.

  • Incorporate delivery metrics, stakeholder feedback, and compliance needs into ongoing backlog prioritization.

  • Promote Responsible AI practices, validating AI‑generated outputs for transparency, security, and compliance where applicable.

  • Reduce ambiguity by working closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements arising from SOW deliverables, regulatory priorities, or evolving business needs.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience in Agile product development or serving as a Product Owner

  • Experience using Jira to manage backlogs, prioritize user stories, track PI objectives, and provide visibility into iteration progress for stakeholders

  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional engineering, QA, and UX teams

  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum practices and frameworks  

  • Ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Ability to make decisive trade‑off decisions and clearly explain rationale

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree


Nice If You Have:

  • Experience within a Scaled Agile environment supporting multiple ART teams

  • Possession of excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills

  • SAFe Product Owner or Product Manager (POPM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or SAFe Agilist Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
