Description

We are seeking a Full-time Special Education Teacher (RSP) to implement and maintains special education programs and services in conformance to district procedures and state and federal laws; providing written support and/or conveying information; serving as a resource to parents and school personnel, as well as the Board; and maintaining adequate staffing to ensure objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget.

Work Setting: School-Based

Location: San Fernando Valley, CA (Commute to Pasadena, CA Central Office required)

Salary Range: $71,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year



What You'll Do:
  • Assist professional and paraprofessional personnel in diagnostic, evaluative, and instructional activities.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of a variety of curriculum activities.
  • Meet with committees and discuss recommended changes; provide guidance and advice to teachers and administrators.
  • Assist in the development and procurement of instructional materials and equipment.
  • Writes and conducts instructional and academic programs; IEP Meetings, determine options and alternatives; consult with other professional staff; observe and work with teachers; monitor students' curriculum progress.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of staff development and in service training; provide teachers and other education staff with support material and resources.
  • Serve as a liaison with support personnel and other public and private agencies; assist in maintaining follow-up and referral service.
  • Prepare specialized brochures, surveys, and other descriptive promotional materials for local, state, and national distribution.
  • Respond to school agencies' requests for new or revised programs and services.
  • Develop and edit field support materials which will facilitate the delivery of instructional and academic programs.
  • Assist in providing training workshops, conferences, and in-services.
  • Consult with other professional staff and consultants regarding programs to which they are assigned.
  • Conduct special education assessments, IEPs and direct provision of SAI services
  • Travel to client sites as required.
  • Provide virtual support to VillageED and in-home students.
  • Ability to meet specific key performance indicators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What You Bring:
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Moderate/Severe Credential- Required.
  • Resource Specialist Added Authorization is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in special education from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation- Master's Preferred.
  • 3 years Special Education Experience -preferred.
  • BCLAD Certification- Preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and Google Suite.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
