Position OverviewThe Novelis Uhrichsville team is seeking a Roll Shop Maintenance Leader to join our team. This role will report to the Central Engineering Leader and will supervise our team of highly skilled union maintenance machinists. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the continuous improvement in the maintainability and reliability of equipment in the Roll Shop.
Responsibilities- Manage Roll shop and roll shop employees, driving KPIs to improve efficiency of the roll shop and ensure rolls are group to spec and assembled in a timely manner
- Manage roll shop management software to ensure all rolls are tracked accurately
- Coordinate with operations to ensure the correct inventory and correct sets for production needs.
- Ensure proper roll profiles, crown, and surface finish as per requirements.
- Manage roll shop equipment such as grinding machines, Chocking Unit, and part washer units.
- Maintain roll inventory and ensure optimize availability as per production plan.
- Analyze strip defects and take corrective action related to roll conditions.
- Optimize grinding parameters to enhance roll life and process efficiency.
- Maintain chocks for WR & BUR along with servicing, refurbishment & bearing Maintenance
- Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance of roll shop equipment.
- Maintain records of roll usage, grinding cycles, and performance KPIs.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards in roll handling and operations.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Capex execution for roll shop
- Lead the shop floor team for high performance
Minimum Qualifications • Associates degree or technical certification with +5 years of machining experience. (Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technical field strongly preferred)• 3-8 years of experience in rolling mill or roll shop operationsSkills & Competencies- Knowledge of rolling processes and roll metallurgy

Location ProfileOpened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum coil. The Recycling mill prepares scrap aluminum that is used in the rolling mill to create rolled aluminum coils to a desired gauge. Anneals temper the aluminum then it is leveled and sized to customer specification. Employing more than 400 people the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction automotive distribution transportation and consumer durable applications.
