Job Responsibilities:

Robotics Specialist Engineer wanted in Williamsburg, IA to analyze complex robotics, stamping press and MIG welding issues using engineering software simulation tools, process modeling and industrial automation for automotive seat manufacturing; diagnose and resolve electrical, electronics and hardware failures in robotic systems including sensors such as Keyence and Balluff, PLCs, HMI programming and industrial networks including profinet, Profibus and device.net; diagnose mechanical failures in robotic systems, including replacement of gears, servo motors, bearings and pneumatic actuators such as Parker, SMC and Festo; diagnose mechanical failures in robotic systems, including pneumatics and hydraulic actuators, hydraulic pumps, pressure controllers and flow regulators; configure mechanical and hydraulic presses including AIDA, Verson, Wia Mister, Schuler used in automotive stamping processes; define MIG welding parameters, including Lincoln Systems; and, adjust Resistance Spot Welding parameters in Bosch controllers. Perform PLC and HMI programming to drive cycle time and process improvements. Ensure that robotics and automation equipment interfaces with existing production equipment, including welding and material handling, press, and other assembly equipment. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment problems, including robots (material handlers and welders), conveyors, vision systems, camera systems, and HMIs. Attain safety, quality, and productivity goals. Support the maintenance team with root cause analysis and troubleshooting activities. Understand robotic safety protocols such as DCS zoning for assembly and press equipment. Install new or relocate existing equipment throughout the plant using equipment books, schematics, and blueprints for setup and teardown. Analyze and resolve complex problems involving robotics, stamping presses, and MIG welding; develop complete solutions using engineering software, simulation tools, process modeling, and industrial automation for automotive stamping facility; use Robotics Programming and Integration: including Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa Motoman, Kuka, PLC and HMI Programming: Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC Flexible, Scout), Allen-Bradley (RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, CCW, PanelBuilder), Vision Systems Programming: Fanuc iRVision, Keyence, Cognex, Stamping Presses: AIDA, Schuler, WIA, drive programming: Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Bosch Rexroth (IndraWorks), WEG SuperDrive G2 (Inverter Parameterization Software), advanced MIG Welding Systems: Lincoln Electric, robotic welding devices, advanced Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) Systems: Bosch controllers, and, industrial communication protocols: Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, DeviceNet; and, perform continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis. Complete assigned work orders, daily downtime logs, required forms, and shift communication boards. Participate in shift handoff meetings and communicate with oncoming shifts. Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints, and files in an orderly fashion. Obtain training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements. Complete all work in accordance with IOSHA, NEC, JIC, and IDNR standards and regulations. Complete correspondence, forms, and reports using a personal computer and required software. Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory. Attend training as required and handle confidential information on a regular basis. Perform other duties as assigned. Requires 36 months of related experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or Robotics Specialist Engineer.
