Position SummaryThe Robotics Field Engineer will travel to our customer sites to install systems, train employees, and provide on-site support. This position combines robotics, controls, and electrical work, as well as excellent customer support and interaction. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and service ARIS Technology systems at our valued customers' locations.
Primary Responsibilities - Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain our custom automated robotic systems at client sites
- Build and test motion control systems, including servo motors, stepper motors, sensors, switches, and related electrical components
- Set up safety equipment and confirm sensor operation
- Successfully represent ARIS Technology at customer sites and in other locations
- When not at a client site, support the build of robotic cells and perform related mechanical and electrical work
- Create robotic programs utilizing a teach pendant and offline programming software tools, hand-guided motion planning, or advanced motion planning
- Advise management regarding product performance and suggestions for product improvements
- Install software to control robotic system for applications
- Install end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
- Collaborate with others on matters such as troubleshooting, innovation, etc.
- Use a variety of tools in the installation and maintenance of robotic systems
Required Qualifications - Robotic systems experience, including building, installation, evaluation, and service
- Experience working with sensors, servo motors, and related electrical components
- Testing, troubleshooting, and validation experience
- Mechanical skills and abilities, including the use of hand tools and precision tools for the assembly and maintenance of robotic systems
- Problem-solving and sound decision-making skills
- Advanced client-facing communication skills, including the ability to understand user perspectives, exercise diplomacy, and execute with excellence
- Robotics experience: Fanuc, Universal, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, and/or other
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, related degree or equivalent work experience
- A valid and current driver's license is required

Preferred Qualifications - Collaborative robot (cobot) experience
- Accustomed to documenting tests and experience working in a test-driven environment
- Robotic motion planning knowledge
- Familiar with Localization as it relates to Robotics
- An understanding of CAD
- Experience with 3D scanners
- Experience working in a start-up and/or matrix environment
- Manufacturing industry experience
