Mars Snacking- Production Lead- Elizabethtown, PA

  • Pay: Based on experience starting at $89K +
  • This site manufactures DOVE chocolate


Current Shift Schedule

  • 4-Shift Rotation: Rotates between:
    • 4th Shift: Week Off
    • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM
    • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
    • 1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Weekday Shifts: 8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday)
  • Weekend Shifts: 12-hour shifts (off every other weekend)


Future Shift Schedule:

  • Year 2027: Transition to a fixed shift: 12 hours; 2.2.3 schedule; fixed shifts on days or nights


Description of Role:

The Production Leader is a shift-based, front-line operations leader responsible for managing an average of 15 production associates. This role focuses on efficiently improving quality, safety, continuous improvement, performance management, associate development, team engagement, and operating results.

What we are looking for?

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • 4+ years experience in a people management role
  • 4+ years experience in a technical manufacturing continuous improvement environment
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Proficient in computer software's including MS Office and email


Physical Requirements:

  • Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
  • Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or certifications
  • Mechanical training or experience


What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Manage and motivate a team of up to 15 associates to meet KPIs, maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety while fostering associate engagement and development.
  • Implement changes in methods, equipment, systems, and organization as needed to ensure line/area objectives are achieved.
  • Provide recommendations using a Continuous Improvement mindset
    Collaborate with the Area Leadership team to enhance strategies for improved line/area performance.
  • Coach operators to develop their functional and leadership capabilities, driving accountability within the team.
  • Coordinate materials, staffing, and resources to support line operations and changeovers.
  • Ensure ongoing production and conversion of materials into quality, safe, and defect-free products, consistent with Mars principles.
  • Any ad hoc requests
