Job Summary:

This role is responsible for originating, negotiating, and executing third-party CNG fleetdispensing opportunities to expand WM's external RNG commercialization footprint. Working closely with the commercial organization, the position identifies high-value fleet partners, structures RNG offtake and dispensing agreements, and optimizes monetization of associated environmental commodities (RINs, LCFS, RNG, etc.).

The successful candidate will blend strategic market developmentwith hands-on dealexecution, serving as a key contributor to WM's differentiated gas strategy. This includes leading external fleet engagement, evaluating regulatory and market shifts, and driving internal alignment across Fleet, ERM, Compliance, Finance, and Operations. The role requires independent thought leadership, strong negotiation capability, and the ability to translate market intelligence into actionable commercial opportunities.
  1. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fleet Origination: Identify, evaluate, and engage third-party CNG fleets suitable for dispensing WM RNG. Build and manage a pipeline of external fleet partners, including private haulers, logistics operators, municipal fleets, and regional transportation companies.


  • Deal Structuring: Structure commercial agreements for RNG dispensing and environmental attribute monetization. Align deal terms with WM's commodity exposure goals and commercial strategy.


  • Negotiation Leadership: Lead negotiations with external fleet operators, fuel retailers, and infrastructure partners. Drive mutually beneficial outcomes while protecting WM's commercial, regulatory, and operational interests.


  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with Fleet, Compliance, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure commercial structures meet policy, risk, and operational requirements.


  • Regulatory & Market Intelligence: Monitor regulatory developments affecting RNG dispensing and environmental attributes. Provide timely insights on market trends, pricing dynamics, and emerging compliance/voluntary program opportunities.


  • Strategic & Tactical Planning: Assess long-term market positioning and short-term tactical opportunities. Identify data gaps and improvements related to fleet consumption, RNG production, and commodity optimization.


  • Commercial Analysis: Deliver independent analysis of macro and micro market trends, competitor activity, and new monetization pathways. Translate insights into actionable commercial recommendations.


  • Entrepreneurial Research: Investigate emerging renewable fuel programs, fleet technologies, and infrastructure models to enhance commercial value and reduce risk.


  • Business Unit Support: Provide subject-matter support to internal teams on RNG dispensing, environmental attributes, and fleet-related commercial activities.


III. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in business administration, or similar area of study preferred, or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years or relevant experience required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in RNG commercialization, fleet energy origination, natural gas markets, or environmental commodity structuring.

B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of North American RNG markets (voluntary + compliance).
  • Experience engaging external fleets or fuel partners in CNG/RNG contexts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong teamwork, self-motivation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with physical natural gas logistics and environmental attribute platforms.
