Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Wound Ostomy RN, you will serve as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.
Every day you will provide the full scope of WOC(ET) nursing practice, including direct patient care for complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. You will also engage in education, counseling, research, and administration regarding these specialties.
To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse demonstrating expertise in wound, ostomy, and continence care. Your strong clinical assessment, education, and consultative skills are essential for optimizing patient outcomes in these specialized areas.
- Assesses and identifies condition of patient needs by direct observation, examination, patient and/or responsible person(s) interviews and their medical records.
- Manages WOC(ET) nursing office operations and program development as well as outpatient services for all patients within the WOC(ET) nurse practice.
- Plans patient care to reflect goals that are realistic, measurable, and consistent with medical plan of care, including discharge planning.
- Implements nursing and medical plan of care through the delivery of safe and therapeutically effective interventions.
- Provides educational opportunities regarding guidelines of care for patients within WOC(ET) nursing practice.
- Evaluates patient progress toward expected outcomes

Job Requirements
Required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
- Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
- Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse
Preferred
- Two (2) years clinical nursing experience in acute care or wound care setting.
