Position Summary:The primary purpose of your job is to assess resident's needs, develop an individualized care plan, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care and supervise nursing assistants and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care in a SNF setting. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our community, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services or designee to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures. You will also serve as Staff Development Coordinator and Infection Preventionist. As such, you will plan, organize, develop, direct, and evaluate all educational programs throughout the community in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations. The Coordinator will identify training needs, develop training plans and materials, and evaluate efficacy of training provided. In addition, you will also oversee the planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the infection prevention and control program throughout the Community in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations. This includes ensuring that current standards of practice related to infection prevention and control are incorporated in resident care and employee actions and identifying Community training needs based on infection surveillance and process/outcome measurement, developing training plans and materials, as well as evaluating efficacy of training provided.
Education/Qualifications:- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.
- Must possess a current CPR or BLS certification.
- Must possess basic computer skills and ability to navigate through various software programs, including electronic health record software.
- Must have at least 2 years' experience teaching or training adult learners and have experience in designing training plans and at least 3 years working in long-term care in order to be the subject matter expert in policies, compliance, and standard operating procedures.
- Be qualified by education, training, experience certification, or a combination of these to meet the position requirements.
- Must have completed (or complete within first week of hire) specialized training in infection prevention and control, including state-specific training required.
- Must have basic computer skills and ability to navigate/learn to navigate various software programs, including Learning Management software and the electronic health record.
