Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Progressive Care Unit registered nurse provides direct patient care, with a 1:3 ratio in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Progressive Care Unit. The registered nurse is a supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains plan of care for vulnerable patients.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Exercise excellent observation and sound nursing judgment, excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills.
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation
  • All external Candidates must have Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification.
  • 1 year nursing experience in Definitive Observation/Step Down/Progressive Care Setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
