Job Description

Position: RN/LPN, Full-Time 2nd Shift

Schedule:
  • This is a full-time position on the following shift:
    • 2nd: 3pm-11am

Pay:
  • Pay Range RN $38.00 - $42.77 per hour depending on experience plus shift differential
  • Pay Range LPN: $30.00 - $33.26 per hour depending on experience plus shift differential

Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Summary: This position provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by our Quality-of-Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive and give report at shift change for LPN/RN and CNA. Make Rounds. Report all deficiencies to the Director of Nursing.
  • Count and sign off on narcotics at the beginning and the end of shift.
  • Pass medications, documenting on Medication Administration Record (MAR), and notifies Director of Nursing of any incomplete documentation.
  • Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc. as needed, documenting in treatment record.
  • Document on residents per protocol.
  • Notify family and physicians of change in resident condition and as necessary.
  • Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.
  • Replenish supplies for the medicine cart, medicine room and resident rooms. If there is a shortage, orders through central supply personnel.


Qualifications:

  • Must have valid NC or compact state LPN/RN license with no substantial findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident property.
  • Minimum of 3 months' experience as a LPN/RN preferably with elderly care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
  • Ability to observe changes in resident's condition and act accordingly.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealing with employees, residents, family, visitors and volunteers.
  • Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.
  • Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.
  • Ability to recognize problems, make decisions and solve problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situation.
