Job Title: Registered Nurse

Experience: One year of recent clinical hospital experience as a Registered Nurse
License: Current state Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC
Certifications:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent required within 90 days
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days

Must-Have:
- One year of recent clinical hospital experience
- Organized, versatile, and adaptable

Description:
Manages both the unique and predictable needs of the patient undergoing a procedure in the GI/Bronch Lab.
Assesses patient's health factors, integrating health history with the current procedure.
Evaluates the patient's attainment of expected outcomes.
Documents pertinent patient data, nursing interventions, and patient outcomes in an accurate, timely, concise, and legible manner.
Documents and initiates disposition of all surgical specimens.
Inspects, decontaminates, leak tests, and sterilizes flexible endoscopes.
Operates and documents the use of sterilizing equipment, identifies the correct sterilization method, and performs/documents biological monitoring as needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of the location of supplies and equipment within the department.
Executes nursing actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner.
Performs patient monitoring and provides appropriate nursing care to patients receiving IV conscious sedation.
Demonstrates knowledge of actions, indications, contraindications, precautions, adverse reactions, dosage, and administration route of ordered drugs.
Administers and collects physiologic data from ambulatory pH and hydrogen breath tests; provides patient education related to these tests.
Recognizes and implements emergency nursing care.
Demonstrates flexibility regarding shift reassignment/rotation to support patient care needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
