Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives.Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns.To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.

  • Is a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues.
  • COORDINATES PATIENT CARE UTILIZING THE NURSING PROCESS: ASSESSMENT Completes Nursing Assessment by utilizing all available sources of information; patient, family, history, etc., Develops plan of care that is specific to patient's health and age related needs based on findings during the initial assessment Recognizes patient's/family's capabilities and assists them to function at their optimal level. Makes appropriate adjustments for each individual, respecting their capabilities and age needs, and allowing for optimal independence. Initiates the appropriate patient care protocols based on initial assessment of the patient Performs ongoing reassessment of patient according to Emergency Department standards Reports abnormal findings and/or changes in patient's condition to the physician in a timely manner.
  • COORDINATES PATIENT CARE UTILIZING THE NURSING PROCESS: PLANNING Demonstrates knowledge of patient needs, and develops a plan of care utilizing knowledge of growth and development throughout the life-span, including: pathophysiology, protocols and procedures, and critical pathways Reports abnormal findings and/or changes in patient's condition to the physician in a timely manner. Informs patient / family/ significant other of the plan of care and anticipated length of time required to carry out the plan. Properly identifies each patient's acuity and plans accordingly.
  • COORDINATES PATIENT CARE UTILIZING THE NURSING PROCESS: IMPLEMENTATION Initiates and implements physicians orders accurately and timely as required Consistently collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, each assigned patient's individual and age specific needs. Demonstrates ability to set patient care priorities. Anticipates potential problems / complications and plans appropriate action to prevent or limit sequelae. Modifies plan of care according to changes in patient diagnosis, needs and/or outcome. Administers and prepares medications safely and appropriately Prepares patients for admission or transfer in accordance with regulatory agency requirements and per policy and procedure Considers knowledge deficits, barriers to learning, and appropriate teaching methods in performing patient teaching
  • COORDINATES PATIENT CARE UTILIZING THE NURSING PROCESS: EVALUATION Develops a discharge plan for individual patients; utilizing assessment data and including the patient and family whenever possible and appropriate. Documentation reflects patient/family understanding, feedback, or return demonstration. Evaluates and documents effectiveness of patient teaching provided Monitors patient's response to interventions and treatment modalities received while under the care of the emergency department to evaluate their effectiveness Recognizes life threatening complications/situations and responds immediately by initiating and participating in emergency procedures
  • COMMUNICATION Communicates effectively and professionally with all members of the health care team Contacts the physician promptly with significant changes in patient's condition, collaborates professionally for required orders and follows-up with revised care. Documents these events and consistently reports to Charge Nurse. Oncoming team is well informed of these occurrences through a bedside shift report. Utilizes an established format to give an inclusive bedside shift report to team members.

RN New Graduates: 

 

We are not currently accepting new graduate or new to speciality applications.   Our next posting period will be July 1, 2026 for an October 16, 2026 start date.  Positions can be found under National Resident RN (<12 months experience as an RN) or RN Transition/Fellowship (>12 months experience as an RN.
