- Manages ECMO circuits and equipment during patient care, including circuit interventions and change-outs.
- Observes, monitors, assesses, and reports patient status and response to ECMO therapy.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for ECMO patients.
- Participates in building and priming disposable ECMO circuits and other related equipment.
- Leads ECMO patient transport, both within and between hospitals. Documents comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnostic testing and equipment status.
- Educates patients and families on ECMO devices and equipment to ensure safe patient care.
- Provides education to facility staff on ECMO therapy and safe patient care practices.
- Assists in the onboarding, training, and development of new ECMO specialists.
- Participates in program meetings, multidisciplinary rounds, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Initiates and suggests quality improvement ideas through appropriate administrative channels.
- Facilitates the growth of the ECMO program through education, coaching, and outreach opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge and ability to build, prime, and initiate an ECMO circuit utilizing various disposable equipment and cannulas. [Required]
Education:
- Associate's [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
- 2+ year of ICU critical care or palliative care experience for patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Preferred]
