ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse functions as a central member of the multidisciplinary Perioperative Assessment Clinic team dedicated to improving patient safety, surgical outcomes, and the patient experience. Working in collaboration with perioperative medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, anesthesia professionals, surgeons, pharmacists, and other members of the care team, the Registered Nurse performs comprehensive preoperative nursing assessments, identifies and escalates clinical concerns, coordinates ordered testing and consultations, reinforces individualized optimization plans, and helps patients successfully prepare for elective surgery. This position requires excellent nursing judgment, meticulous attention to detail, strong communication and care-coordination skills, and a willingness to help build and continuously improve a new model for evaluating and preparing patients for surgery. The Registered Nurse practices within the registered-nurse scope of practice, approved protocols, standing orders, and organizational policies.
QualificationsEducationo High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or completion of a CHS-approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required.o Completion of an accredited registered nursing education program required. Licenses and Certificationso RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of California required.o BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association required.
